1. Hey moms, we need each other. Shit, do we ever. Thanks to those of you who listen and nod, and say - been there, and this too shall pass. This thing we are trying to do, it's hard.
2. My first job out of art school was at Art for Recovery, a nonprofit offering art workshops and art at the bedside as part of the USCF Cancer Center. My boss, who is now my good friend, is an incredible woman. I feel so fortunate to have spent many years watching someone so deeply dedicated to their work and the promotion of creativity. There were ,any wonderful quotes hanging in our offices, but this was my favorite, "This living is so hard how can we be anything but loving." TRUTH. I tried to find the source for you, I couldn't, at least not today. I'll keep looking though.
3. A good friend posted this the other day. It hit me pretty deeply. This is a small part of the quote, but those of you who know Sylvia Plath, will recognize where to find the rest."I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet." - Sylvia Plath
