1. Today is my 41st birthday. I think it's as good a time as any to take a few deep breaths and get back to that mantra:
Today I promise to be my best self. To be an outstanding mother, a passionate artist, a good friend, and an open hearted woman. I will get on the mat, create with great abandon in the studio, and remember wherever there is a lock, there is always a key. I am sending love to those who need it, and those who don't think they do. I'm going to start here. Small but mighty.
2. Development is a life long process. A lot can happen in a year and this past year has been one of tremendous growth. There are so many things I can do now that I couldn't do last year. I feel like a little kid looking back and remembering a time when I couldn't ride without training wheels, or had no front teeth. Most of the newness comes from yoga. For the first time today I was able to back my feet away from the wall in a headstand. It was for a fast few seconds, but it felt amazing, and nothing like I thought it would feel. I've had a lot of these moments as of recent, and I welcome more this year.
3. My yoga teacher posted a mantra this morning that I LOVE. Here it is...
"Under NO circumstances will I l lose my faith or my practice." So important to remember these days. This gave me total grey matter melt this morning. Sometimes we forget it is for US to decide when to lose faith and I'm not handing that off to anyone anytime soon!
