1. My favorite Christmas song verse comes from a 1979 Muppets Christmas special. John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together. I know, I know. John Denver. But hear me out. For whatever reason, this show had a huge impact on me as a kid. I have the original album on vinyl and the recording was released on itunes a handful of years ago. The songs are still some of my favorites and it has been a joy singing them to my daughter. This year I was able to find the special in its entirety on Youtube. It was the first time I'd seen it since I was a kid and I pretty much remembered it frame for frame. Here's my favorite verse: "May peace on earth fill up your time and brotherhood surround you. That you may know the warmth of love and wrap it all around you." Worth remembering for sure.
2. Feeling enormously grateful for my incredible family and friends. So much love. It makes me hopeful during times of uncertainty.
3. Anticipation is one of my favorite feelings. I always have a sense of sadness as Christmas day comes to an end. So much preparation both in my business and at home. Things get under way work wise in August, at the latest, and at home I start planning for the holidays in early October. I'm looking forward to the days getting brighter, and spending some time looking inward for a bit.
