1. Pantone announced Greenery, the Color of the Year for 2017 to quite a polarized crowd. People seemed to either love it or hate it. I fall on the side of LOVE it. Fresh, optimistic, and bright, exactly the opposite of how I've been feeling lately! I'm all for believing in something other than reality right now. What do you think?
2. Madonna, I've missed you! Like a Virgin was originally released in 1984. I was an eight year old elementary school girl growing up on Long Island. My girlhood and adolescence would have been so drastically different without Madonna. I feel lucky that her choices as an artist were celebrated and talked about in my home. I always understood her to be all the things she is, even as a girl. I'm not sure that without her we would have had these conversations about identity as a woman and an artist. Inspired that she used the platform of Woman of the Year to speak her truth. I've missed hearing from her. If you haven't heard her speech, get on it. She drops some major bombs. Google that shit now.
3. Every Sunday around 3:30 in the afternoon I suddenly remember all the things that I need to prepare for the week to begin. No matter what the weekend brings, Sunday afternoon at 3:30 rolls around and I'm suddenly surprised by all that needs to be done. It's like I'm caught off guard every single week. You'd think by now I would see it coming.
