1. Robert Frost. Woke up this morning thinking of this poem.
Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.
2. #lovethyneighbor (NO EXCEPTIONS) Cory Booker posted this hashtag on his FB page. It's from a photo he took outside the Hart Senate office building. Yes to that and yes to Cory. For all the reasons.
3. Magical thinking. The good kind. With wanting to steer clear of the news and more emotional shows in an effort to save what's left of our sanity, my man and I have been watching as much David Blaine as we can get our hands on. He had a special on TV last week, but you can also find older videos on Netflix and Youtube. He's weird, wild, and mesmerizing. Escapism at it's best for when you need a break from reality. Also, it's always inspiring to see someone so truly dedicated to their craft. He will spend a decade on perfecting one of his performances. The story of how he trained himself to spit up kerosene is incredible. Look for it on Netflix.
