1. Make a sign that says "Party Today, Outside," and hang it up in your house. One sits on our mantel and I smile every time I see it.
2. Read a favorite book once a year. I've been doing this for a while now, I used to be a lot better at keeping the commitment. The past 4 or so years I have not gotten very far, only a few chapters, but as soon as I read, "Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice,” my heart feels at home.
3. Give idle hands a purpose. I forget this often. I'm happiest when my hands are busy, whether in my studio or on the mat.
