THESE 3 THINGS 021

These 3 Things

021

1. Start a serious relationship with a painting. When it comes to art I'm polyamorous. I have paintings all over the world and like to visit them often. In San Francisco, it's always been Clyfford Still, New York - Jackson Pollock, and in Oslo this strange and beautiful painting of two young Irish women. To have works to visit again and again and see how something so still can change over time is pretty profound. The works don't change but our eyes soften and isn't that lovely?

2. When it comes to decisions we never really know if we are making the right choice. My yoga teacher asked me about 6 months ago, "Have you ever known 100% that you were making the right decision?" Whoa. Major grey matter melt over that one. Nope, never. There have been times where it was clear that one choice was better than the other, but even in those circumstances I wasn't seeing into the future and certain that there was a right decision, one that would lead me unquestionably to the desired outcome. Usually my decisions have been to take some form of action and that in and of itself is a decision.

3. Sometimes when it comes to my business it feels like I am not enough. With designing and making my own product and doing every other little thing for my business sometimes I just want to throw my hands in the air and say, "When is it enough to just be me and make what I make?" The answer is never. That would be nice, but the reality is on most days I feel like I am running uphill while making and designing, and trying to promote my brand and all the work behind promotion is exhausting. This is the one place in my life where I often feel like I am not enough or not saying the right thing, or sharing enough on Instagram, on and on and on. Whatever it is it feels like I am coming up short. Jeez. It feels like crap. I'm a grown ass woman and I'd like to be over this. Now. Today.
