1. Reiki is a good thing. I had my first Reiki session yesterday and it was pretty amazing. Not sure if I would have tried it a year ago, but once you move to Marin, live in the woods, become a yoga instructor, and can have a conversation about crystal cleansing without batting and eye, you might as well try everything the healing realm has to offer.
2. In energy work the left side of the body is linked to inner emotional weight. The things we tell ourselves, self-esteem, past trauma, feeling stuck and the like. It can arise from unresolved emotion. Yoga and Reiki can help release and resolve these blockages. Thank goodness because between current neck and sinus pain on my left side as well as a previous surgery on my left side there is something hiding in there. Time to exorcise the demons for real!
3. Support your friends when they are starting something new, or reinventing themselves. Go to their graduation, restaurant opening, open mic, product launch, yoga class, or just show up to be a warm body for them to photograph. We all need those first few clients who help us move past the initial butterflies. It's nice when they are friends.
